Sphere meetings are smaller, industry-focused group meetings within the larger Gate City BNI group. The idea is that these smaller groups have strong potential to share business with each other, as they are frequently in front of customers who have needs that are well-suited for the other members of that group.

For example, a graphic designer and a printer will likely have a lot of common interests. A Realtor and a mortgage broker will have significant customer overlap.

There are four primary sphere groups within the Gate City BNI Chapter:
- Business 2 Business
- Health & Wellness
- Financial Herd
- Real Estate
